The War Diaries of S. J. Teague
Our Founder, Sydney John Teague, wrote a series of diaries during the second world war which spanned from 1938, when he was just 16, to his return in 1947.

"My habit of keeping a detailed diary appears to have originated in June 1938, when I was 16. It was at first in part scribbled in pencil and part written in ink in a fragmentary hard-bound account book."

After he died, in 2022, we uncovered a box of letters which were written from his parents to him whilst he was away in Europe. Editor, Helen Allinson, is currently compiling the letters alongside the diary entries, so we can see both sides of the story as the family were divided due to the conflict.
